On November 22, the 2025 "Sports for Education" Symposium and the 6th JOE TSAI "Sports for Education" Principal of the Year Awards Ceremony, hosted by the JOE TSAI FOUNDATION, was successfully held in Nanxun, Huzhou.

The JOE TSAI "Sports for Education" Principal Program is a public welfare initiative launched by the JOE TSAI FOUNDATION. Since its launch in July 2019, the program has attracted over 4,300 principals to apply, and 61 outstanding principals have been selected as "Sports for Education" fellows. These selected principals have actively participated in various seminars and exchange events to share their successful experiences in integrating sports into education. They have also promoted the coordinated development of regional physical education by setting up principal studios, benefiting more than 2.8 million teachers and students to date.

After six years of development, the JOE TSAI FOUNDATION has recognized more principals with sportsmanship, and the concept of "Sports for Education" has been embraced by more educators. A notable example is Ouyang Qian, principal of Luohan Middle School in Pu’an County, Guizhou Province, who was selected this year. Inspired by the "Sports for Education" Principal Innovation Camp, he began promoting unicycle sports on campus. He even "carved out" a football field from a cornfield. Using sports, he not only prevented left-behind children from dropping out of school but also fostered competitiveness, teamwork, and resilience among rural students. He said, "Every child has their own time to bloom. We use sports and other methods to keep children in school and wait for them to thrive."
This event was not only an annual awards ceremony but also an ideological gathering for the in-depth integration of sports and education. Here, forward-looking ideas from education experts, practical insights from sports celebrities, and frontline stories from rural principals converged and collided. The event announced the list of selected principals for the 6th JOE TSAI "Sports for Education" Principal Program in 2025 and released the JOE TSAI "Sports for Education" Principal Case Series (2025). Renowned sports stars including Deng Yaping, Yang Wei, Liu Shiwen, Xie Zhenye, and Zhang Weili, along with over 100 principals from across the country, attended the event to discuss physical education and pay tribute to principals who embody sportsmanship.
